In 1953, Artifort took its first step along the path of innovative design with the Pingu?n, designed by Theo Ruth. The iconic Pingu?n armchair consists of only two separate base elements that seamlessly fitting together with forked ends and held together by gravity. The design armchair reminds you of a pingu?n (Dutch for Penguin) because of its striking armrests.

Innovative design

As the foundation piece of Artifort’s exploration into innovative thinking, the Pingu?n has made a return in a limited edition of only 125 chairs. The Pingu?n armchair can be purchased at selected Artifort dealers and is upholstered in the original Bute Tweed fabric. Each armchair comes with a special edition number.
